Community Impact

Since the Junior League of Dallas was founded in 1922, its members have helped raise more than $34 million for area agencies and provided more than 7 million volunteer hours.

JLD membership is open to women of all races, religions and national origins who demonstrate an interest in and a commitment to volunteerism. Our membership of 5,500 plus women is proud to have an impact on our community.

With more than 5,500 members, the Junior League of Dallas contributes significantly to the betterment of the lives of Dallas citizens. This year, we will contribute more than 120,000 volunteer hours and raise more than $1 million to give to the community.

The Junior League of Dallas grants more than $1 million to support nonprofits in Dallas County, including 41 agencies in the Community Program, 12 Provisional Projects, Community Outreach projects and the Community Assistance Fund.

The Junior League of Dallas is dedicated to the belief that volunteer service is an essential part of responsible citizenship. The JLD has established the T. Boone Pickens Leadership Institute to train potential leaders on the critical social and community needs in Dallas.

Each year, JLD members contribute their time and talents in six issue areas essential to a strong Dallas community: Arts and Cultural Enrichment, Education, Family Preservation, Health, Poverty Intervention and Violence Intervention.
