Transfer to JLD

Have you recently moved to Dallas? Are you interested in transferring your Junior League membership from your former League? The Junior League has a 100-year history in the Dallas community and remains an organization of women committed to promoting voluntarism, developing the potential of women, and improving the community through the effective action and leadership of trained volunteers. Our membership is a diverse group of nearly 5,000 women who annually give more than 100,000 uncompensated hours of service to the projects and agencies supported by the League. Active members range in age from 22 to 49, and more than 85% are employed outside the home.

To transfer your membership you must first contact your current Junior League and ask them to transfer your membership to Dallas via the Association of Junior Leagues International (AJLI) e-Transfer system.

Please provide your current League with the following required information:

  • Name
  • Your new address
  • Phone number
  • Email address
  • Your current status (Active, Provisional or Sustainer)

PLEASE NOTE: After AJLI processes your transfer, you will receive an email confirmation directly from AJLI. From there, the Junior League of Dallas will be notified by AJLI of your transfer request and a Junior League of Dallas staff member will contact you via the email address provided to complete your transfer. Your transfer into the Junior League of Dallas is considered final when your profile is complete and any required dues and/or fees are paid.

Transfer Fees and Dues

In addition to a $30 Transfer Fee, Transfer dues shall be as follows:

  • An incoming Transfer whose effective date of transfer falls between July 1 and Dec. 31 shall pay annual dues of 50% (or one-half) for the current administrative year exclusive of the AJLI per capita charge.
  • An incoming Transfer whose effective date of transfer falls between Jan. 1 and June 30 owes no annual dues for the current administrative year, but shall pay a full year’s annual dues for the following administrative year.

Active Transfer Requirements

The Junior League of Dallas accepts Active Transfers on a rolling basis, thus depending on the time of year you transfer in, the requirements and opportunities will be different. All Active Transfers are enrolled into a Transfer Course to help you acclimate and meet other members of the League. This program lasts for up to one year and upon completion of the program you will become a regular Active Member. To learn more about what it means to be an Active Member, visit the Membership page.

Provisional Transfer Requirements

The Junior League of Dallas Provisional Class begins meeting in May each year. If your transfer is completed by July 15, you will join the current year’s Provisional Class. If your transfer is completed after, that date you will be considered a Provisional-in-Holding until the following year’s class begins. The Junior League of Dallas staff member that completes your transfer will share your information with the Provisional Committee as soon as your profile is complete. The Provisional Committee will contact you at the email address provided with your transfer regarding the Provisional year as soon as details and information becomes available.

Sustainer Transfer Requirements

Sustainers are not required to fulfill any requirements but can participate in many fun programs, events, and activities. Once your transfer is complete, the Junior League of Dallas staff member who assisted you in your transfer will share your contact information with the Sustainer Transfer Chair. Once notified, a member of the Sustainer community will reach out to you to provide further information.
